LOL I was looking at that car like a week ago and thinking to myself. So, if I get a Lada in Russia, how much will it cost for me to import one here. About 5 grand. Then I will have to worry about getting it restored to be perfect. That will take another couple of grand. That 8 grand doesn't sound so bad after all. Then I closed my browser and went to bed.

I'm from Toronto, but going to university in Ottawa. So not as close. But still relatively close in Canada terms.

Way better than Toronto, in my opinion. A little sleepy at times, but I like it here.

I almost went to Guelph, but realized that the really good food was the only interest I had in it.

For a very brief period in the early 80's, Ladas were available with the TH180 3-speed auto tranny from the Chevette. It's unclear whether they were installed by AvtoVaz or retrofitted by the dealers, but they did exist. Apparently the SDM got a 2-speed, but it was discontinued cause it sucked worse than Lada's manuals.
